Femtosecond Laser Shock Compression of Solids: Fundamentals and

ABSTRACT
Unique microstuctures are formed in the femtosecond laser-shocked solids, which are not observed using conventional compression methods. XFEL measurements of lattice behavior under the femtosecond laser shock compression and a new laser peening technique, Dry Laser Peening, using the femtosecond laser shock compression will be addressed in the talk.
