Nazih Mechbal is a full professor and the director of the Processes and Engineering in Mechanics and Materials laboratory (PIMM - UMR CNRS - CNAM) at Arts et Métiers (science & technology engineering school in France), He has more than 20 years of experience as a researcher where his research interests include the development and application of theoretical methods of automatic control, signal processing to mechanical structures and more specifically to smart structures which cover structural control, structural health monitoring, diagnosis and process control. He has managed numerous industrial and public projects and supervising more than 18 PhDs in that area. He is currently the coordinator of the EU-funded H2020 MORPHO project (Embedded life cycle management for smart multilmaterials structures). He was the leader of the flagship national CORALIE project (TRL1 to TRL5 - SHM of A380 nacelles with flight tests).
