Xavier COLIN is Professor at Arts et Métiers, Paris since September 2011.
He prepared a PhD thesis in the team of Dr Jean-Paul FAVRE at ONERA, Châtillon in collaboration with the team of Dr Jacques CINQUIN at EADS, Suresnes on the thermal oxidation of organic composite materials considered as warm structural parts for the next generation supersonic aircraft. He defended this PhD thesis in 2000 in the specialty “Mechanics and Materials” at Arts et Métiers, Paris, and he obtained the Highest honours distinction with the jury’s congratulations.
After a post-doctoral internship at CEA, Grenoble, he joined in 2002 as Research Engineer then Professor Assistant the team of Prof. Jacques VERDU at Arts et Métiers, Paris. He obtained the HDR thesis (required for a full Professor position in France) in 2008 in the specialty “Chemistry” at UPMC, Paris on the theme: “Towards a model for predicting the lifetime of polymer structures in their use conditions”.
