Je m'intéresse à l'étude du comportement mécanique des polycristaux, du point de vue expérimental et théorique, et plus particulièrement au lien entre la microstructure, le comportement effectif, et les mécanismes de déformation à l'échelle locale (typiquement micrométrique). Je travaille notamment sur l'interprétation mécanique des mesures de diffraction des Rayons X et des neutrons, qui permettent une mesure directe de la distribution des déformations élastiques (valeurs moyennes et fluctuations). Je développe en particulier des mesures à une échelle sub-micrométrique par microdiffraction Laue. L'utilisation de modèles micromécaniques est nécessaire pour l'interprétation des données de diffraction. Dans ce domaine, j'utilise et développe des approches d'homogénéisation en champs moyens, en particulier celles basées sur le schéma auto-cohérent, et leur extension aux comportements nonlinéaires comme la viscoplasticité et l'élasto-viscoplasticité. La pertinence de ces approches peut maintenant être évaluée par des confrontations systématiques à des solutions de référence obtenues en champs complets (full-field), comme par exemple avec la technique récente par transformé de Fourier (FFT). Un intérêt particulier a été porté ces dernières années sur l'estimation des hétérogénéités intra-phases et sur l'implication de ces hétérogénéités sur les évolutions de microstructure (écrouissage, développement de texture, recristallisation, …).

Les matériaux étudiés sont les métaux purs et les alliages métalliques d'usage industriels (aciers, cuivre, alliages de zirconium, …), les céramiques (zircone), les nanomatériaux (films minces), les matériaux architecturés, ainsi que les matériaux de la géophysique (glace, minéraux, ..).

Projets de recherche en cours :

  • ERC FASTMAT sur l'étude du comportement en fatigue à très grand nombre de cycles (VHCF). Nous développons des mesures de diffraction in situ résolues en temps (~10ns) sur la ligne DiffAbs du synchrotron SOLEIL, que nous interprétons à l'aide de modèles micromécaniques.
  • ANR-DFG HoTMiX concernant l'étude du comportement micromécanique d'oxydes nanostructurés aux très hautes températures, à l'aide notamment d'expériences synchrotron in situ.
  • ANR ForgeLaser sur l'étude mécanique du choc Laser utilisé notamment pour la génération d'un champ de contraintes résiduelles dans les matériaux.
  • ITN CESAREF , en particulier la thèse PhD7 : champ de contrainte dans les céramiques réfractaires.
