Since 1 January 2021, I have been the laboratory's Deputy Unit Director (DUA) at the request of the laboratory's previous director, and I am in charge of the materials characterisation platform.

I trained as a materials engineer (graduating in 1989) and joined the CNAM in 1991 as a design engineer. I've been interested in research since I joined the CNAM, and in 2003 I defended a thesis on the extrusion of films of polymer blends with high gas barrier properties. In 2010 I joined the corps of research engineers. With the former CNAM P2AM team, I joined the PIMM in 2011.

As a member of the polymers and composites group and the physico-chemical characterisation resource centre, I am in charge of research support for :

- twin-screw extrusion, single-screw extrusion and multi-layer co-extrusion lines 

- gas permeability measurements (oxygen and helium).

As part of the "materials characterisation" platform created in 2022, which encompasses 4 resource centres including physico-chemical characterisation, I was able to develop new methods for measuring oxygen diffusion coefficients with a view to participating in the polymer ageing activity. 

Alongside these activities, I have been able to develop my own research into improving the gas barrier properties of polymers, particularly biosourced polymers or bioplastics such as PLA, with a view to their use in food packaging, for example. In this context, I have set up collaborations with INRA and AGROPARISTECH and am part of the PROPACKFOOD RMT (national mixed technology network), which is interested in improving the quality of packaged goods. To this end, I have developed and optimised a multilayer coextrusion line for the manufacture of flat films and, more recently, blown films.

Teaching is also part of my job. I teach continuing education courses on behalf of the CACEMI (centre d'actualisation des connaissances et de l'étude des matériaux industriels, http://cacemi.cnam.fr/) on my research topics and I am in charge of developing the practical work platform on polymers at the CNAM in Paris 3rd arrondissement. I also teach and collaborate with schools and universities in the Paris region (Ensam, Université Paris-Est Créteil, Agroparistech).
