Makers printed headbands either on their own machines or on the machines belonging to FabLab at the Paris Campus, which were normally used for research and training purposes. From a CAD (computer-aided design) file, the production time per headband is around one hour and fifteen minutes. Printers used polymer wire spools (PLA - Polylactic acid). Thus, more than 100 face-shield headbands were printed per day.

Face-shields were then sent to hospitals and town halls, which redistributed them to caregivers in several towns located in the Ile-de-France region. The action mobilized about ten colleagues from the PIMM as well as colleagues from other laboratories from the Paris Campus.
