Karine Lavernhe

After a Master's degree in the field of the Mechanics of Materials, I prepared a Phd thesis in the LMT-Cachan, dealing with the modeling of the mechanical behaviour of shape memory alloys subjected to complex loading conoditions (multiaxial and non-isothermal). I am now assistant professor at the ENS-Cachan, whic enables me to teach in Bachlors's degree programs and master's degree programs. I am also pursunig my reseraches, in particular around the strain localization in exotic materials like shape memory alloys and many other materials.

Juan Antonio Ruiz Sabariego

After a Master's degree in the field of the Mechanics of Materials, I prepared a Phd thesis in the LMT-Cachan, dealing with the modeling of fatigue crack growth in a nickel base superalloy subjected to complex loading conditions (variable amplitude loadings, non-isothermal conditions and aggressive environment). Then I integrated the department -Design methods- of the motorist Snecma where I am developing industrial method to guarantee the life of engines and to anticipate possible failures in critical parts of turbomachines during a fligth

Stéphanie Bissey-Breton

After a Master's degree in the field of the Mechanics of Materials, I prepared a Phd thesis in the research laboratory LaBoMaP (ENSAM Cluny), in relation with the company Prototyp S.A. that produces cutting tools and CEA Valduc. The thesis was dealing with the development of a cutting model for tools families. We considered in particular the case of high strength steels. Then I integrated the cutting laboratory for nuclear powerplants technologies of CEA Valduc. In this lab. I am working as a research engineer in cutting and machining processes.

Charles Petry

After a Master's degree in the field of the Mechanics of Materials, I prepared a Phd thesis in the LMT-Cachan in collaboration with the company Snecma. I discovered the passionating and complex world of rocket engine design. Then I integrated the department of Reserach and Development of EDF (Electricité de France) where I work as an research engineer, about the mechanics of metallic materials employed in thermal and nuclear powerplant

Mickael Manceau

During this year I discovered the world of research in the field of the mechanics of materials. After one semester of courses that allow acquiring solid scientific foundations in the field of the mechanics of materials the training period begins. My project consisted in developping a constitutive behaviour for thixotrope materials (a mixture of solids and fluids). This training period is strongly related to industrial problems and though it demands a high scientific understanding. During this period the courses of the first semester are used to better understand problems and to know how to deal woith these problem, it is not a strict application of the courses. It was a really staisfying experience from an intellectual and a human poitn of view. Now I am working as a research engineer in the company EDF (electric current production and distribution) and I can see that this type of eduction is useful for various industrial fields (energy, transportation , civil engineering). From Mickael Manceau, Arts et Métiers ParisTech (2008), Diploma master's degree Masma (new Magis), reserach and development engineer in EDF
