PIMM's involvement in research master's degrees:

Members of the PIMM are teaching in 4 research master's programs:

  • M1 FOF
  • MAGIS (Mechanics of mAterials for enGineering and Integrity of Structures) is a 2nd year research master's program supported and coordinated by ENSAM and co-habilited by University Paris Saclay (ENS and CentraleSupélec) and University Paris Sciences et Lettres (Chimie Paris, Mines Paris and ESPCI) with the participation of researchers from CEA, LRCCP and ONERA. MAGIS is managed by X. Colin from PIMM, and 2 of the 4 sets of elective courses are coordinated by PIMM. 50% of teachings are given by PIMM. The enrollment amounts to about 50 students per year, including about 10-15 engineering students in 3rd year at ENSAM.
  • SAR (Systèmes et Avancés et Robotique) is a specialty supported by the university Paris VI and entitled by ENSAM. 45 students attend it each year, including 15 ENSAM students. PIMM members perfom around 20% of the teaching.
  • IMS (Ingénierie des Matériaux et des Surfaces) is a specialty supported and coordinated by ENSAM, entitled by ECAM-Lyon, HEI-Lille, and ENSAIT-Lille. It receives 15 students per year including 3 or 4 ENSAM students and around 10% of the training are handled by the PIMM.
  • MS2SC (Modélisation et Simulation en Mécanique des Structures et Systèmes Couplés - (MS)2SC) is a specialty supported by CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris Saclay and ENSTA, and entitled by ENSAM. It gathers 20 students including 2 from ENSAM and 1 class is given by PIMM staff.

Master IMS aims at creating collaborations between the laboratories of the different ENSAM campuses, while the other masters coordinate teaching in mechanics and materials in the Paris region.

Master's internships:

Each year, PIMM welcoms around 40 master's internships, mainly for M2 levels, including 30 research master's internships.
