Jean Pierre Chevalier, Professor of the Cnam's "Materials Science" chair and University professor at the PIMM, retired on the 31st of August 2019. Nowadays, he holds a position of Professor Emeritus at the Cnam. 
He became a member of the French Academy of Technologies in 2018.
In order to celebrate his career, a day on the theme "Materials and sustainable development: industrial approaches and societal impact" is organised in his honour.
